The Mentoring Women in Business Programme is a programme designed by Cherie Blair for Women was jointly conducted in Malaysia with Qualcomm Wireless Reach, Maxis, Tune Talk mobile prepaid and Yayasan Pendidikan & Vokasional Wanita Malaysia (YPVWM). The programme utilizes 3G technology to connect business professionals around the world with women entrepreneurs in Malaysia. The programme aimed to enhance women’s skills and knowledge in the areas of business and technology in order to help them to grow and maintain their own successful businesses. The skills and information these women gained improved their self-confidence, maximize their entrepreneurial potential, improve their socioeconomic status and empower them to become self-reliant.

As of May 2015, 200 women entrepreneurs have completed their training in ICT, English and business training delivered by YPVWM and had been matched with a mentor. Project participants were provided with tablet and 3G Internet data to assist them for 12 months mentoring relationship.

Through the programme, 86 percent of 200 mentees reported that they have built skills that they can use in their businesses, 95 percent improved scores on ICT assessments and 91 percent of women who report that they gained confidence through the training.
