MINISTRY OF WOMEN, FAMILY AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT (MWFCD)

ICT contributes significantly to women empowerment and reducing gender inequalities. The ability to use the digital technology and access to information and knowledge increases women’s opportunities to participate in public life and nation building.

Recognizing ICT contribution towards women empowerment and social well-being, an e-komuniti centre in Bangsar was set by MWFCD in 2004. YPVWM was appointed to manage and provide ICT trainings for the community in Bangsar and other areas nearby.

The centre provides women and their children the access to use ICT as tools for knowledge and skills enhancement. The training enable women entrepreneurs and students to use computer system and software to prepare a simple cash flow, business plans, personal and business letters, identify and rectify basic computer systems defects and malfunctions, internet search skills to source for information and business opportunities and conduct internet banking.
