Focusing on the skills that are relevant in the digital technology industry and other services value chain will broaden their employment and business opportunities for these groups. An initiative under Etiqa Corporate Responsibility, The ‘Socially and Economically Empowered Development’ (SEED) program is expected to produce skilled entrepreneurs with diverse products and services and the promotion of socioeconomic sustainability through the creation of business opportunities and employment.

Come and join our weekend sewing classes this December. This course caters for beginners who want to learn how to sew,to intermediate students who want to refine their existing skills. Register here to save your space

Patternmaking beginners : Learn to sew and make a skirt or blouse
Duration : 2-days
Fee: (Skirt) RM 150

What will you learn
– An introduction to basic pattern making techniques, making pattern blocks for a straight and A-line skirt
– How to take personal measurement
– Learn the basic uses of a sewing machine
– learn basic stitches, how make an open and closed seam and sew curves and corners and sew edge and topstitch and make a buttonhole.
– sew darts, insert a concealed zip, attach a facing, learn how to hem and finish the garment.
Skill level : No experience necessary

Sewing 102 : Pattern making Intermediate: How to make a simple dress
Duration : 2-day
Fee: RM 250
Time: 9.30am – 5.30pm

What will you learn
– learn to make a stylish dress in your chosen fabric from a commercial pattern in this class.
– learn how to use a commercial pattern, and to lay, mark and pin the pattern to fabric and cut out.
– You will be sewing seams, making darts, inserting a concealed zip and attaching a facing. You will them hem, press and finish your dress ready to wear.
Skill level : This workshop is for those who already have basic sewing skills

Mentoring Women in Business Programme 2015 – Applications now open!

Calling all women in business! We are now accepting applications for the Mentoring Women in Business Programme 2015.

We are back and we want to invite women business owners with passion, drive and commitment to join us as a mentee. This FREE programme offers a wonderful opportunity for women who wants to build their businesses, grow their networks and refine their business skills with the support of a mentor.

Free 5 days training on English communication, Business, Marketing and ICT will be provided prior to the mentoring programme. Training will take place on March 2015

Who should join?
– Small/Micro owned business, idea/early stage entrepreneur

Basic Admission requirements

– Be able to attend the 5 days training prior to the mentoring programme.
– Speak English at intermediate level
– Be able to to meet with their mentor ONLINE at least twice a month for 12 months
